Re-Elect Ruth Stanley for Avon Town Council

About Ruth...

PAGE 1.png

I have called the Vail Valley home since 1993 and Avon home for more than 27 years. This is where I have built my life, made lifelong friends and put my heart and soul into the community.

If something is happening in Avon, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find me there; and likely with my two Golden Retrievers, Kaki and Piper. I am a regular attendee at the Avon Life and Sunset Live concerts, art festivals, music festivals, fundraisers and community celebrations that bring people together. Sometimes I'm just volunteering or helping behind the scenes - including summer emcee for Avon Live.  And, sometimes I'm just simply enjoying the amazing Avon events with my neighbors.

That connection to the community shapes how I serve on Council.  I am presently involved with the Avondale Apartments, Avon Grants and Recreation Center renovation projects; I regularly attend the Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST) conferences, Mountain Towns 203,  as well as serve on local boards - the Vail Valley Art Guild and High Five Access Media.

Over the past four years, the Council has helped local families purchase homes through Mi Casa and Good Deeds and acquired property for future housing - namely the Avondale Apartments. It has invested in Nottingham Park, trails, sidewalks, wildfire mitigation, recreation, Restrooms, public art and special events.

I am proud of what the Council and Town staff have accomplished together. I also know that every decision affect people’s daily lives. When residents raised concerns about parking, I listened. I want residents to feel comfortable stopping me at an event—or at the grocery store—to tell my what’s happening in their neighborhoods. I may not always have an immediate answer, but I will listen, ask questions, do my homework and get back to you.

Avon has given me so much. I would be honored to earn your vote and continue giving back with my energy, experience, heart and, yes, a little stubborn determination.
